JOB SUMMARY

The role of the FBA Children’s Director is to lead our church’s efforts to minister to children in our church (birth through 5th grade), their parents and the broader community. The ideal candidate will have both experience and passion ministering to children and parents, as well as experience in creating and leading volunteer teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree in elementary education or similar field.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in similar position.

  • Other relevant volunteer or work experience

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary oversight of all programing for children throughout the church, including Sundays (morning and evening), midweek and special events. Programming will be designed to reach each child at their level.

  • Provide leadership and oversight for other departmental paid staff and interns.

  • Lead all planning and overseeing special events related to children and families, including Vacation Bible School, camps, community events, etc.

  • Responsible for executing a vision for the Children’s ministry that contributes to the church’s overall vision. Responsible for developing an annual ministry plan to achieve that vision.

  • Responsible for recruiting, developing, deploying, and retaining children’s ministry volunteers and leaders to serve in Children’s Ministry.

  • Provide tools for parents that helps them be involved in the spiritual formation of their child’s life.

  • Annually develop and oversee the Children’s Ministry budget so it effectively and wisely utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunity.

  • Direct Supervision Over the Faith Arlington Parents Day Out Director.

  • Participate in staff meetings, providing up-to-date information about Children’s Ministry.

  • Keep the Pastor of Strategies and Operations thoroughly informed of staff accomplishments, concerns and future plans.

  • Maintain excellent relationships and open communication with all staff, parents and volunteers.

  • The successful candidate must be a Fully Devoted Christ-follower, called and dedicated to the ministry of children and parents and fully support the ministry of Faith Arlington Church and its leadership team. This individual’s commitment to Christ will be evidenced in their personal life, family relationships, and ministry. Incumbents daily walk with God will be an example to the children, parents and others with which (s)he interacts.

  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as in team environments.

  • Gifted in leadership. Leading both staff and volunteers.

  • Strong relationally.

  • The ideal candidate will be creative, have a passion and heartfelt concern for spiritual growth and development, be high energy, hardworking, and possess the ability to work independently as well as in team environments.

  • Detail oriented. Must possess solid time management skills and organizational abilities. Must have the ability to coordinate several activities at once and quickly analyze and resolve specific problems.

  • Must be comfortable and able to communicate effectively, in both small and large group environments.

  • Proficient with databases and managing database reports.

  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office software.

  • High aptitude and competency for technology, including, computer hardware and software; smart devices (e.g. smartphones and tablets).

  • Ability to operate office equipment, including a sophisticated phone system and copiers, various printers and postage machine.

GROW Director

JOB SUMMARY

The role of the FBA Grow Director is to lead our church’s efforts to minister to children in our church on our Sunday night GROW program. The ideal candidate will have both experience and passion ministering to children, creating child friendly programming and environments, as well as experience in creating and leading volunteer teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in similar position

  • Other relevant volunteer or work experience

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary oversight of Sunday night programing for children throughout the church, including recruiting, scheduling, training and leading volunteers and teams.

  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Children’s Director to ensure programming, curriculum, etc. is consistent with and reflects the vision and DNA of the church.

  • Participate in all Children’s departmental meetings, providing up-to-date information about GROW to Children’s Director.
