JOB SUMMARY

AVL Director will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ while managing and have responsibility in the
maintenance and operation of Audio/Visual/Lighting equipment throughout the Faith Arlington Campus.
S(he) will help ensure that services and events across all facilities and ministries are able to use AVL technology
effectively and strategically to enhance the experience of those attending.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • • College degree in AVL or a closely related field is a plus.
  • • Experience in similar position.
  • • Other relevant volunteer or work experience

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary oversight of all programing for children throughout the church, including Sundays (morning and evening), midweek and special events. Programming will be designed to reach each child at their level.

  • Provide leadership and oversight for other departmental paid staff and interns.

  • Lead all planning and overseeing special events related to children and families, including Vacation Bible School, camps, community events, etc.

  • Responsible for executing a vision for the Children’s ministry that contributes to the church’s overall vision. Responsible for developing an annual ministry plan to achieve that vision.

  • Responsible for recruiting, developing, deploying, and retaining children’s ministry volunteers and leaders to serve in Children’s Ministry.

  • Provide tools for parents that helps them be involved in the spiritual formation of their child’s life.

  • Annually develop and oversee the Children’s Ministry budget so it effectively and wisely utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunity.

  • Direct Supervision Over the Faith Arlington Parents Day Out Director.

OTHER SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & SPECIAL ABILITIES

  • Proficient knowledge of audio systems and large-format digital consoles
  •  Familiarity with personal monitoring (e.g. AVIOM) and digital audio networks (e.g. DANTE)
  •  Ability to train volunteers in operation of equipment
  •  High I.Q. of media in the context of worship services
  •  Knowledge of broadcast video environments
  • o Broadcast switcher with multiple cameras (IMAG)
  • o Keyed computer graphics (lower-thirds)
  • o Presentation software (ProPresenter, Media Shout, Easy Worship, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • o High I.Q. of projectors, displays and video transmission
  •  Knowledge of lighting in the context of worship services
  • o Theatrical, intelligent, LED and lighting for video
  • o Familiarity with DMX programming
  •  General knowledge of audio signal flow and sound reinforcement.

  •  Detail oriented. Must possess solid time management skills and organizational abilities. Must have the ability
  • to coordinate several activities at once and quickly analyze and resolve specific problems.
  •  Must be comfortable and able to communicate effectively, in both small and large group environments.
  •  Proficient (or fast learner) in use of current and future communication tools, i.e. cell phones, internet, social
  • networks, texting, blogging, etc.
